From the early gigs in Cologne back in 1991, to the
present day, Steve has played an eclectic mix of funked up techno
and tough house. His following is rooted in north Germany where
he has headlined at many major events. He has played all the legendary
clubs including the E-Werk, Warehouse and Omen, and headlined at
Mayday, Nature One, Love Parade and Tribal Gathering in Germany
many times. He is commonly appreciated for his unique eclectic style
and slick mixing. He also writes his own page for Raveline magazine
featuring record reviews and his inside and often rebellious views
of the club scene. It all started on the radio…
Steve started his DJ career age 14, on Hospital Radio Bedford. This
later led to a job on ‘The Voice of Peace’, a pirate
radio ship off the coast of Israel. In 1984 he joined BFBS, an international
radio station operating in many countries, presenting his own music
show.
Having worked in Cyprus, Hong Kong, Nepal and Belize, he returned
to London in 1989 to pursue a freelance DJ career. Free of constraints,
his radio show grew into a specialist dance programme and had one
of the highest ratings in its class. In 1995 he started his own
label, Experience Grooves, (later to be called ‘Experience
2000’) on which he has released many club cuts.
He has now stopped the radio work in order to spend more time making
music at his studio near Brighton England.
Steve is currently releasing more breakbeat oriented music under
the pseudonym of 'Sly Fidelity'
